Houston, TX – HSBK pilot, Dustin Dominguez, went into the final round of the AMA Pro SuperSport season with fierce determination. The clean sweep at MidOhio made for three straight race wins for Dominguez who headed into the final round 2014 AMA Pro SuperSport Championship trailing 1st place by only 2-points. He set the tone early in the weekend and proved he would be a force to be reckoned setting pole position in qualifying one and two Saturday. In qualifying two, Dominguez ran over a full second faster than those behind him at 1:24.457, just .099 off the track record.

Things were going well for the team, but by the time race one was starting in the afternoon the weather had changed. With the rainy conditions and close point standings, the team decided to ride smart and feel out the track before pushing. As Dominguez cut the gap between himself and Gillim, a red flag was called after a bike went down on the track. The AMA made the decision to call the race after completing just eight laps and Dominguez claimed a second.

The team knew all that was left to do was win the race and let the cards fall where they may. Dominguez was able to control the race pace with skilled riding and perfect lines. He won the race with Hayden Gillim on his heels. The point standings left Dominguez just two points out of the championship making it a bittersweet win for the team. They were happy to finish the season on top of the box even if it left them just short of the championship.

Team Owner, Bobby Shek, said, “The team’s tireless dedication throughout the season showed time and again. We finished the season with more race wins and leading lap times than anyone else and set pole four times. I am so proud of the team and what we have accomplished this year. We came up a little short of the big victory, but we finished the year with a win and our heads held high after a tough battle. That is in no small part in thanks to Ronnie Saner of RSR joining the team as Crew Chief. He worked doggedly to fine tune our program to what it has become. With the current team we have, I am confident that we will be a top contender in any of the classes next year. Many thanks to our sponsors, fans, Dustin, Ronnie and the crew for an incredible showing.” The team is now on a break to rest and draw up plans for next year. They have made it clear they are here for the long haul and multiple championships.
